FEAST Poster Competition

I entered the poster competition for Feast this year, I widdled down my designs to the two above I liked, I ended up submitting the one on the right, however I'm kicking myself now I think I should have put in the one on the left. Regardless the winning design wasn't all to different from mine, just stuck to the brief abit more so at least I was on the right path, just have to set my sights on next year. Check out the winning design at http://www.feast.org.au/about/Latest-News.aspx

Tiger Shark

I'm probably about half way through my Tiger Shark painting, I've being going nuts with comic books paintings so far done a big Batman and a big Robin VS Nightwing. Having alot of fun. Referencing my works alot from Jim Lee's work, very talented and inspiring individual hope to be able to consider myself a talent like him one day, I like to set the bar high.

Finger Mag

A new publication to hit the streets of Adelaide I was lucky enough to have Greenhill Galleries use my old mug for the Advertisment they placed in the first issue for their Australia day exhibition, which I also had the opportunity of displaying my work, sold a few which is always exciting, shame I didn't get my money until four months later. Love the art world :)

SketchPad2

More drawings from the sketchpad, not my own original designs though.

SketchPad

I thought I should start including some images from my sketchbooks, just to show my process and a completely different side to my work, since I normally only put out huge paintings. Most of these are rip offs of some Illustrators I got introduced to whilst on my Canadian Adventure, forget there names, Travis Sengaus was one. I find drawing others works helps me find elements within that drawing I like and can eventually put into my own designs. For those who don't recognise, where've got powerglide one of my all time favourite autobots, a couple of Ben 10 aliens, Spidermonkey and Wildmutt and of course good old Optimus and Batman.

Sure Jesus Loves You.....

A quickie I produced in class, my goal was to get back some of my iconic toilet humour back into my work, so I came up with the phrase, "Sure Jesus Loves You... But Does He Swallow!" The final Illustration had the type floating behind the image, but after more consideration I thought it wise to not include it as a portfolio piece. Especially after the strife I had with the comic book about superheroes getting powers from drugs.

National Youth Self Portrait Prize

I entered the portrait prize a few years ago now only just got around to putting it up, I'm shocking, anyway got published in the national galleries magazine even though I didnt win the $20,000 prize I was still chuffed with getting into the finalist exhibition.

old miner portrait

An old quickie I put out while I was experimenting around with my style, people seem to like it.

Wolf

I Illustrated up this guy originally as Fenris wolf from old norse mythology but I'm thinking hes got a more red riding hood feel to him, missed the mark with this one but still like his characterization.
